A night with JustUs KitchyRetro

Taking bookings for our 2015 #newhorizonstour with the release of our #newhorizons Album due out April 2015. Its exciting times for us, as were going from strength with us having bookings already for 2015. There are still plenty of dates for 2015 and some for 2014 so get in touch and book us for your event or venue. We've also got a tour page being designed for our website, this will include posters for your venue so you dont have to design your own. This will include A4 A3 and A2 sizes and tech speck for show layout. We have several layouts available for different size venues and events from being completely acoustic through to large concert halls.

JustUs KitchyRetro Back Garden Sessions

So much Fun

It was a lovely day, so what else were we to do than play some songs in our little garden. We've been wanting to do some Retro style films for a while so we got out the Old Fuji stills camera out, knowing that the  bass will distort somewhat.

So we just played a few songs, actually got sunburnt in the process... I don't know ... What we do for our art hey ! 

Anyways we played the vid back and we were quite happy, the sounds was pretty retro just like the really early gramophone records, perhaps a little to distorted for modern day recordings but. We decided to run with it..

Mark got pretty excited and wanted to make some old style looking videos, just like the Old Cine or 1920s pictures so he started editing and designing, the titles and then doing all the scratches and as it it was shot on film.

Bamfest at Bedale

Wow what a fabulous weekend,  met up with #youngunns and #folk21 just great what theses guys are f ping for  up and coming musicians.  We got a slot at the folk21 tent and we're well received.  The singrounds were great as we're the noodles (everyone playing along to traditional tunes) some great acts on to..  The young'uns,  Tim McFarlen,  The whisky dogs,  Jezz Lowe,  The Hailey Sisters,  to name just a few...  Great weekend...  Looking forward to connecting them online.

It's been a while since we've been  here and we had forgotten how much we enjoy it here..  Set included 'my old friend the blues (Steve Earl) ', 'raining in my heart (Buddy olly) ' Daisy chain (JustUs KitchyRetro) rocks land line (Lonnie Donnegan) man gave names to all the animals (Bob Dillan) The Banker..  Mr Mr (Just Us Kitchy Retro) looking forward to playing here again.

Sam was a star he came to the rescue when the person that was going to run the video camera did a no show..  Sam stepped in and took his place. He's now working on a video for us..  Same a great photographer and cinematographer so pay him a visit and check his work out...

Tshirts have arrived

Wow wow wow.!!!
So very excited our Tshirts have arrived, I didn't think I would so excited but I am and I just have to share my excitement with you all..  It's only 4 weeks away to the launch of our single 'The Banker' it's whilst we're at the Hartlepool Folk Festival on the 11th - 13th of April...  Every thing is sorted CDs are getting printed and duplicated,  receive them in a couple is weeks..  Website is almost up to date with the store page.  The distributors have sent our single out to all the stores like iTunes, Amazon mp3, deezer and many more.  Digital Radio air play is all sorted..  And out Tshirts are here it's fantastic....
It's all so very exciting...  Tshirts are just £10 plus £2.50 postage and packaging...  Check out our website on the 23rd of March where they be on sale,  and you can also pre order your Hard copy of our single 'The Banker'  for just £2.50...

Website facelift....

Ahhhhhh.....  I am so annoyed....  OK here I am starting to set up an online shop for our single,  t shirts etc.  I get into the admin section and it says would you like to upgrade for free to the new version of the Web editor....  Of course I think 'wow great'  and I hit the upgrade button...
But Ah O!!! 
Everything's changed,  old templates don't work or wrong size..  So instead if starting a little online shop I've had to redesign the website..  The main content was not affected which is a good thing,  but a little job that would have taken me a day has turned into 3 days work...
So was working on it yesterday,  am working on it today cos it's looking a little higgeldy piggeldy...  But it's a vast improvement on the old web site...  I hope you agree.... 

Ohhhh scary

I took quite a while to fill in the paperwork for our publisher today and then we uploaded the master for our single.  It was at that point we realised were going to have a single put there for the whole world to hear. That's when our excitement turned to nerves.
It was like my first time ever on stage,  shaking and sweating in front of 150 people...  But this was worse...  The realisation that our dreams to release a single by the 11th of April is coming true..  All the hard work,  planning,  design,  recording,  everything finally coming together 'The Banker (Hey Mr Mr)'  will be launched in time for the Hartlepool Folk Festival...
Demo Cd sleeves sitting on table took quick snaps to share with you all. Still awaiting barcode and catalogue number..  OK nerves now turning back to excitement...

Wow August since our last blog post

How time catches up with us.
As you get busier and busier things get dropped off the end and our blog seems to be that thing that got neglected.
We've been pretty busy over the last 7 months with the gigs, moving house and re writing the business plan for the music.



We've be writing and have about 10 songs in the wings, but we are due to release our very own song into the realms of the internet.

Yep thats right were going indie ..... Well label wise anyways ....
We still need a release date confirmed... (should be in the next week)..
Its all very exciting so watch this space...
